Get Money Out of Politics

Stop Foreign & Corporate Influence in Elections

Overturn Citizens United: Amend the U.S. Constitution to overturn Citizens United. The decision made by the Supreme Court has enabled a system that gives wealthy individuals and corporations disproportionate influence over elections and policy-making.

Require FARA Registration: Require organizations like AIPAC and paid social media influencers advocating for foreign interests in U.S. elections to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) for transparency.

Prohibit Foreign Spending: Ban foreign-owned or foreign-funded companies from participating in U.S. elections, and amend the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) to extend these prohibitions to U.S. corporations with substantial foreign influence. (Buckley v. Valeo)

Ban Corporate Lobbyist Contributions: Ban registered corporate lobbyists from donating, bundling, or fundraising for candidates in order to mitigate quid pro quo corruption, and apply these regulations to lobbying agencies, their contractors, and nonprofits that represent corporate interests.

Lower Contribution Limits: Lower the maximum amount individuals can contribute to campaigns and political parties.

Implement Public Campaign Financing: Establish programs like small-donor matching funds, where contributions from individual donors are matched with public funds (e.g., at a 6-to-1 ratio) to lessen candidates' reliance on large donors

The influence of money in politics continues to reduce the power of ordinary citizens.

Through this campaign, we are building a political framework that honors the fundamental principle of a government for the many, not the money.
